Mission

The Taylor Music Group is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to supporting world-class performance and educational activities in classical and Celtic folk music. The Taylor Music Group is the umbrella organization hosting the sister ensembles the Taylor Festival Choir (TFC) and Na Fidléirí Reimagined, and the Celtic Arts Series in the Piccolo Spoleto Festival.

The Taylor Festival Choir is an elite chamber choir that performs and records the finest choral literature from all eras, with a particular emphasis on 20th and 21st century music, and folk music of the Celtic world. Formerly the student-based Na Fidléirí (Na Fidléirí meaning “the fiddlers” in Irish Gaelic), Na Fidléirí Reimagined is a music ensemble of “traditional” (of the Celtic tradition) and classical musicians that perform a unique blend of music inventively fusing these two traditions in concert and recording.

Vision

The Taylor Music Group believes that great music performed at the highest standard touches the sacred: nourishing and animating the human spirit.

We believe that the connection between “high art” (classical/art music) and “art of the people” (folk music) is a sacred one that is vital for the continued viability of all art. We therefore treat these art forms as equal partners, with programmatic activities, both performing and educational, bringing our mission to life locally, nationally, and internationally.

We believe that the performing arts are inexorably linked to arts education and instruction.

The Taylor Music Group strives to be an exemplary organization where equality, diversity, mindfulness, and love shine through in every aspect of our music-making. We envision a world where society is more just, equitable, tolerant and considerate of each other’s differences, and where humanity lives sustainably and mindfully in harmony with the Earth and all of its fellow inhabitants.
